(soprano) who lives in Hope Valley, R.I. She sang as a child in Sweden, studied there, and later was both a classical singer and a vocalist with a big band. After settling in the U.S. she began singing leads in musical theater: Flower Drum Song, Carousel and Kiss Me, Kate, the latter with Academy Players in East Greenwich, RI. In the Cabot Street Light Opera, in Providence, Birgitta found a regular place singing popular roles such as Mabel in Pirates of Penzance and Aline in The Sorcerer.

She also performed in operas, included Mozart’s The Impresario, and The Magic Flute, as Papagena. Nowadays a regular member of the Shoreline Chamber Ensemble, Mystic, CT, she is currently performing Cantatas by - among others - JS Bach and WA Mozart.
She sings for Swedish audiences around New England, and is an often heard as soloist in churches for special occasions. This will be her third appearance in New Sweden, Maine, where Midsommar Fests are a cherished tradition. She will also sing local favorite Swedish songs inviting a sing-along.
